Artist Statement Project 2

For this project, I wanted to embrace the absurdity that is often found among Snapchat/Tik Tok filters (e.g. the dog ears with the tongue or the liquify effects). While working through our Blender exercises, I devised a plan to make a hammer animation (similar to the infamous "bonk" filter on snapchat), a wizard hat and alien eyes. Most of these models proved to be easy to make except for the hat as I had originally planned on having the stars warp to the shape of the hat. This proved to be more difficult than I had planned, so I made the stars "dance" around the hat while the viewer wore it.

I think that filters should be silly always and I tried to embrace that ideal in that project!
